That glimmer of something!

What a year has it been and it’s not even over! For me, the past couple of months in lockdown was a mix of everything. We all had our struggles and joys and now there seems to be a slight chance of regaining our normal sense of living albeit the new normal and not forgetting that COVID still exists.

I managed to keep myself busy and occupied with work, exercise, keeping in touch with family and close friends. A lot of you asked me whether it became lonely living alone especially during a lockdown and I said no ( I STILL SAY NO!). I had family and close friends living with me virtually and not once did I feel lonely. The whole works of living alone BLISS!

Am I dating? The usual question I get asked, and my usual response is maybe! (coz I gotta keep stirring that pot wink wink!!)

The last time I wrote, was about relationships and the struggles of trying to date again. The trouble I see now is, how does one even date in a pandemic? I don’t know because I didn’t even bother to. So instead, I used these past couple of months to improve myself and determine what is it that I actually want. All I can say for now on this subject, whatever! Oh, and if you ask me about sex, well that is none of your business! (again wink wink!)

Food! OMG food! People seemed to be coming out of this pandemic as fancy bakers and chefs and well this girl gained some weight (not that I am complaining) but damn the food I ate from various small businesses was too good! I just got good at ordering, and I also did a food vlog sharing my favourites!

Stand up paddle also become a thing for most of the people I know in Suva. I also joined in on this and bought my own SUP board. Thanks to my gang, we managed to go out on the water away from the Suva shitty chaos. I am super glad that I am surrounded by friends that are all about fitness, food, fun, growth and doing something worthwhile and meaningful. Can’t wait for our next adventure!

Not being able to see family was a bummer and we kind of got used to talking on the phone everyday and life in general was virtual. But due to a family emergency I ended up getting a pass and moving across to Sigatoka for 3 weeks. It was weird at first because suddenly I went from living alone to being surrounded by people! Although I did occupy the spare flat at my parents place just for COVID-19 safe measures and because I had to continue working from home anyway. The wonders it does to get out of Suva phew! I am glad that family is well and with borders opened, I will get to see them more often, even when I am back at my place in Suva.

That first picture of me by the way features an old holden 1920 or something according to my dad (it’s his new project aka hobby). I know nothing about cars but when I saw it, I thought to myself how cool it is to be able to have that glimmer of hope to build back from anything. I mean, look at all of us right!

Till my next ramblings of a blog, stay safe and adhere to COVID safe measures!
