Run while you can!

Like seriously, run while you can! For me, at my age of 37-years young, I gotta put in the work to stay sane and feel good.

As I keep saying, I eat to work out and I work out to eat. Imagine if I was really good with my meals, best believe I would have abs already! But my goal is to feel good in body and mind through exercise.

I have had a few people tell me that I do too much, waking up early to work out, a busy work life, running, gym, aerial, social activities and to do it all on repeat. But I think, I have made it my lifestyle and to an extent a non-negotiable because at the end of the day, I am looking after myself, by myself and I want to look and feel good.

At the moment, we are preparing for the upcoming Namosi Marathon. I started running in 2020 and got into it thanks to my friend Shane and there has been no stopping since. I started off with walking, then walking more distances, started slow jogs and then here I am running distances.

I enjoy running and its super addictive once you keep up with it consistently. There have been times where I have stopped running because of various reasons, but when I do get back into it, it’s like I pick up where I left it, albeit with a slower pace and the death of me (almost!).

I know a few of you that got into running after seeing my relentless posts about it and I hope you still enjoy running and are taking part in the marathon too. If running is not for you, I am sure there are other exercises that you can take up. But remember, walking and running are FOC and effective means of reaching your ideal fitness and wellness goals. Think back of how our ancestors stayed in shape!

I am going to be sharing a vlog about this running prep to the marathon so stay tuned for that, because as always you will get to see the good the bad and the ugly!

Happy to say that I may have influenced by dear friend and colleague Milo to join the runners club and work towards the marathon! Our group that conquered Mount Tomaivini has been training for the marathon and we are keeping each other in check and motivated.

While running there are times that I feel like pushing them over the seawall when I hear the words, “keep going”, “don’t stop”, “mind over matter”, like calm down, I am struggling to breath and my heart is on the verge of dying haha! But then really once I end a run, I am always grateful and on a high about finishing and that motivation really helps.

Well, more on this topic to follow through, and if you were looking for a sign to start running, well...This. Is. It!
