Ready for Fiji Fashion Season?

Are you red-y for Fiji Fashion Season? (Pun intended if you saw my Instagram post). Take your time to answer that while I talk about the Designers Party that happened over the weekend among other things.

The Fashion Council of Fiji hosted a party this last Saturday to announce details of the upcoming Bottega Fijian Fashion Festival 2019 (BFFF). This will be hosted at the Grand Pacific Hotel (GPH) from the 6th-9th of June.

What caught my attention was the additional runways namely the waterway and skyway. Waterway think ramp over the swimming pool and well skyway, the balcony of GPH. Interesting right?

In addition, the BFFF2019 will be only front row seating. Interestingly, that was said for last year as well. However, when we walked in on the second night, all the front row seats were named and there was a mad scramble with where to sit. I mean we were paying $150 for what was meant to be “all front row seats”. Let me end this statement by including “I have great expectations this year”.

The other major fashion event coming up is the Fiji Fashion Week (FFW) scheduled for the 20-25th May 2019. I missed this event and if I remember correctly, it was because I was out of the country for work. For the first time ever and in the Pacific, last year FFW featured a 7-lane runway. Wish I was around to witness that! Anyway, I definitely am looking forward to attend this event as well.

If you have never attended a fashion show ever, you must at least once! It is a fun event and even if your eyes get tired of scanning the runway, fret not because the after parties are always LIT! I always enjoy figuring out what to wear, hair and makeup and the obsession I have around it. Last year I wore a dress by Samson Lee Fiji with Hair & Makeup by Shyneal Lal.

So gang, I am beginning to get anxious just thinking about Fiji Fashion Season and the whole phase involved with what to wear etc etc. While I may be getting red-y, my poor husband will be facing the brunt of my drama! #sorrynotsorry
