Ecotrax is a must do!
Ecotrax had been on my list of things to try out ever since I came to know it existed and that too in my hometown!
They are located in Cuvu, Sigatoka and you have to make prior booking. You can get more information from their website or Facebook page.
We arrived bright and early super excited to try out this adventure. The cheerful and energetic team made us feel right at home. After signing in, there is a safety briefing and demo of how to use the bicycles.
So two bicycles are mounted on a platform that runs on the old sugar cane tracks powered by the sun staying true to its eco essence. This is the first ever electric assisted bikes in Fiji. What this means is that you have the option to either cycle manually or hit the trigger for the electrics to automatically cycle for as you sit back and relax.
It takes 3 hours to complete the approximately 24km track (to and fro). The old sugar cane track runs through the rain forest, over rivers, through villages and along the coast. Luckily there is nothing uphill so you don’t have to worry about struggling too much.
The tour guides sit with you while you cycle and provide a fun commentary and history brief along the way. Dolly was our tour guide and she was fantastic! What I loved that despite us being locals we were not treated differently. Their customer service and friendliness tops up this activity.
We finished at a beautiful beach spot for a 1 hour rest. They served us fresh fruits, coconut water and water. Worth mentioning again that they stay true to their name and served us fresh coconuts with metal straws!
We ended our tour back at the main shed concluding with a photo session. They printed out our photos and gave it to us as farewell memory token.
I rate this activity 5 stars and would highly recommend that you try this out soon. This is an activity that can be done by all.
Biggest love to the team at Ecotrax! And Dolly, I will never forget the crocodile story!
