Go offline at Namosi Eco Retreat!

A bumpy ride in a carrier veers you through lush green mountains, streams and occasional villages into the interiors of Namosi.

About 20minutes straight into the highlands and you lose all necessary connections that your handheld device and soul literally depends on. This is when you get anxious for a bit to be missing out on the virtual life but once you start taking in all the scenery, you forget about your handheld devices and it no longer is a need.

Namosi Eco Retreat had been on my “to do list” for a while now and I was opting for a change with how I celebrate my birthday this year and thought this would be perfect! We had wonderful friends join us to celebrate life and great memories have been created no doubt.

If you are someone that can handle camp style living or want to try out something new for a change, then Namosi Eco Retreat is where you need to go. It is an excellent place to go as a family, group of friends, corporate groups or even solo if you are daring enough.

Namosi Eco Retreat offers a full on Fijian experience and was set up by Danny and Jacki whose heart was intent on sharing the true Fijian way of living with those keen. From accommodation to meals and activities, they make sure you have it all eco Fijian style!

Just some quick information for you and know that I will be posting up a series of blog posts sharing our experiences. You can find Namosi Eco Retreat on Facebook and even on Booking.com! Their rates are at $199 a night with all meals included. Transportation costs may vary depending on what means of transport you choose- either carriers of the public bus.

Danny ensures that guests are aware of what to bring and this includes: bottled water, flashlights/torch, proper closed shoes, mosquito repellents, towels and you can also take your own snacks and drinks etc. The accommodation are bures that have double beds in it with mosquito nets and all other bedding's included. The retreat also has nicely set up flush toilets and showers with cold water.

Remember that there is no electricity and connectivity here either so be prepared for that. As I mentioned earlier this may or may not be your cup of tea and if you scoff and think that this is more suited for tourists then I beg to differ.

Why do we always leave things to do and see in Fiji for visitors? I say it's time we stop being strangers to our home and explore Fiji as much as we can! Life is now and now I must go eat but stay tuned for more details about Namosi Eco Retreat in my next!
