This got my attention at Day 2 Bottega Gold Fijian Fashion Festival

I bet my red Samson Lee dress that you were totally envious of missing out on such a fab event! Also know that I will not bet my dress away so go get your own Samson Lee!

So the show started late but it did start with a bang and with my heart beating fashionably faster to the beats of Rako Pasekifa. I was prepared to Instastory the hell out of the runway but I could not. Rather, I found myself paying extreme close attention to the garments, style and overall look. .

Hats off to the Fijian Fashion Festival Organisers who made sure that the runway was owned by diverse and talented individuals. The models sashaying down the runway were confident and gorgeous. Without a doubt the Fijian Fashion Festival bought on a revolution by ensuring diversity, inclusivity and equality.

The show was opened by Samson Lee Fiji’s Moana Collection and it featured a buffet of ocean and earthy tones with careful thrown in splashes of red and pink colours. I love how he mixed up his masterpiece prints but allowing them to be recognised as the Samson Lee Fiji prints.

The second night also featured designers such as Deep Blue, Vono, Aladdin’s Cave, 8mountains, Jadeine Whiteside, Zilda, Karalina, Rowie Lal Bridal and ended with House of Queer concluding the evening on a high and welcoming everyone to the after party.

One thing that stood out to me was the attention to detail. Every designer made sure that everything was on point. From hair and makeup to shoes and Jewellery. I was in love with the jewellery that I got to see.

Samson Lee Fiji and Zilda showcased amazing jewelry that is lust worthy and I cannot wait to get my hands on them. Local jewelry designer iCandy earrings of all tassel kind appeared on the runaway which was amazing!

Another highlight of the show was of course the presence of international models (cue me fanning myself) Fili Tapa and Kepa Gaison walking the runaway. Again cue my dreamy eyes! But seriously these guys were down to earth and I heard from the other local models how inspired they were from these 2 hunks.

My favorites on Day 2 of the runway- well I will talk more about this in my next blog post. Also bravo to my friend Shaneel for walking the runway and killing it! He had warned me to not cheer but I did woot and call out his name as he walked past!

Well, if you want to read more in detail about the designers and their outfits then head over to the amazing Neisau Tuidraki’s blog www.kokonatitalk.com and David Solomone’s blog www.threegoodlanefiji.com to get scope on day 1 (or another cool posts they feature)
