Food tunes from Sitar?

Growing up in Sigatoka I remember there were limited choices when it came to dining out. Even if there was a slight chance of trying to score a serve of chicken and chips, we would be told "There is food at home". You would relate to this if you grew up the time I did!

Fortunately for the "now generation" in Sigatoka there are dining out options and a recent addition is the Sitar restaurant in Korotogo. We dined there recently because a much needed break from the wedding scene was required and most importantly it was Kamal's turn to pay.

We walked into a Indian-ish interiors with popular English songs blaring from the speakers (I failed to understand the music bit). Spacious dinning area with a lovely patio outfront and indoor dining area. It also features a cool bure style bar.

We had ordered a meat lovers pizza, garlic naan and chicken thika masala. The food arrived in a timely fashion which was great. I was not a fan of the pizza but we did enjoy the Indian cuisine and had to order more naan.I LOVE mango lassi and got that as well but unfortunately for me I had to share this with Kamal.

I was amazed at the number of staff hanging out by the bure and at a point I felt that we had an audience- if you know what I mean. Anyway, my point is that now there are dining options in Sigatoka which is great when compared to the time I lived there and this one is conveniently located.

More importantly, I hope that Sitar sticks to its name and ambiance that it should rightfully ooze. Surely trying to stick to unique and authentic services should not be too hard for a popular establishment as such.
