My Samson Lee outfit

When the wedding date was confirmed, I started thinking about what I would wear. I wanted an Indian Lehenga but I was after something unique. Let me honest, I own a ton of saris and other Indian traditional wear, but how often do we repeat the same outfit? Maybe twice and then we end up buying a new one.

This time I wanted to get something that I would re-wear in different ways where possible. I was thinking unique, locally designed and made. That is when Samson Lee came to mind. I am a huge fan of his work and love his prints. I stalked so many Instagram accounts for inspiration and finally decided to contact Samson.

One more thing, I was still very apprehensive about the whole idea as this was not done before but Samson was keen to take on my request and was confident that it would turn out nicely. He is THE Samson Lee after all! The lovely Alma (who worked at the boutique during that time), was a sweetheart and kept up with my constant nagging and follow ups.

I finally selected fabric, color, print colors and style and then waited nervously for fitting calls. The outcome was AMAZING and I LOVED it! In case you were wondering, I did the math with purchasing a ready made Indian Lehenga and tailoring costs and it came to around the same amount that I paid for my Samson Lee outfit.

The next challenge- looking for jewelry. I looked almost everywhere and finally settled for earrings and bangles from Tappoo's Sigatoka and a neck piece from Jacks of Fiji Nadi and Novo shoes (Tappoo Sigatoka). Mind you I wore flats because of the amount of walking around I had to do being the sister of the groom! Which meant, the length of the lehenga was PERFECT! The best thing is, I am the only person that would ever own this design.

Samson Lee Facebook Page usually post pictures of their clients in SL outfits and mine was posted. I was blown away by the amount of appreciation received for this outfit. Biggest love to Samson Lee and his team.

I must also confess that Kamal is now an extremely relieved husband because weeks ago, I would not stop talking about whether my outfit will turn out nicely or not. Except, now I talk non stop about how great Samson is! #sorrynotsorry

*** So the pictures of us at the Boutique was taken by my dear friend Shaneel. We were supposed to catch up for lunch and I asked him to meet me there. After all, if your friends don't play paparazzi with you- are they even your true friends?
